JPG to PDF Converter

Make a PDF from your JPG or JPEG files. The JPEG data goes into the PDF as it is, so there is no loss of quality and the file is made in seconds.

    PDF settings

Everything runs in your browser. Your images are not uploaded.

JPG to PDF without losing quality

A PDF file can hold a JPEG image as it is. This tool uses that: when you add a JPG file, its data is copied into the PDF without being decoded and encoded again. The picture in the PDF is therefore identical to the file you started with, and the work takes very little time even for large photos.

How to make a PDF from JPG files

    1. Choose your JPG or JPEG files, or drop them on the box.
    2. Put the pages in order with the up and down arrows. Sort by name helps for scans called scan001, scan002 and so on.
    3. Choose the page size. With Same as image each page has the shape of its picture.
    4. Press Create PDF and download it.

When a JPG is processed again

A JPG is recompressed only when it has to be:

    • The photo has an orientation tag (EXIF), which is common on pictures from phones. PDF viewers ignore this tag, so the tool turns the picture the right way up first.
    • The file is a CMYK JPEG, which browsers and PDF viewers treat differently.
    • You choose a lower quality or a maximum size, to make the PDF smaller.

    Make the PDF smaller

Photos from a modern phone are often 3 to 8 MB each. For a PDF that you send by email, set the quality to Medium and the maximum size to 2000 or 3000 pixels. A page printed at A4 needs about 2480 × 3508 pixels at 300 dpi, so there is no gain in keeping more than that. The image to PDF guide explains resolution and file size in more detail.

JPG, JPEG: is there a difference?

No. JPG and JPEG are the same format. The short extension comes from older systems that allowed only three letters.

Other formats: PNG to PDF and the general image to PDF converter. To shrink the images first, use the image compressor or the image resizer.

    Frequently asked questions

How do I convert JPG to PDF?

Add your JPG files, set the order and the page size, press Create PDF and download the file.

Does JPG to PDF reduce quality?

Not with the default setting. The JPEG data is copied into the PDF unchanged. Quality is reduced only if you choose a lower quality or a smaller maximum size.

Why is my PDF so large?

The PDF contains your full-size photos. Choose Medium quality and a maximum size of 2000 or 3000 pixels to make it much smaller.

Can I combine several JPG files into one PDF?

Yes. Each file becomes one page, in the order of the list.
