Paise and rounding
Only two decimal places are used for rupees. If you type 99.999, it is rounded to 100.00 and the tool tells you that it rounded. If the paise are zero, they are left out, so 500 is Five Hundred Rupees Only.
Tips for rupee amounts in documents
- Write Only at the end, so that nothing can be added after the amount.
- Use the same system in words and in figures: the Indian grouping 12,50,000 goes with twelve lakh fifty thousand.
- Check the result against the figures once more before you sign.
