How to resize a photo for WhatsApp
- Choose the size first: a DP, a status, a link preview, a sticker, or Custom with your own width and height.
- Choose how the picture fits (see the table below).
- Add your photos. Each one is resized as soon as it is added, and the list shows the result.
- If you change an option afterwards, click Apply again to redo the whole list.
- Download each picture or one ZIP.

Which fit to choose

For a face near one edge, use Crop with the focus on that side so it stays in the frame. To make a DP by hand and see the circle, use the WhatsApp DP maker.
Options that matter
- Format: JPG is smallest for photos. PNG keeps logos and text sharp. WebP is small and keeps transparency, and it is the format of WhatsApp stickers.
- Target size: set a limit such as 100 KB or 300 KB and the tool finds the best quality that fits. This helps with stickers and link preview images.
- Bar color: match your brand color, or pick a neutral one.
- Custom size: any size from 16 to 8000 pixels.
Stickers
A WhatsApp sticker is a 512 × 512 WebP with a transparent background. Choose the 512 × 512 size, WebP as the format and a limit of 100 KB. If your picture already has a transparent background, use Crop to fill, because bars and blur replace transparency with a color. For a sticker cut from a photo, remove the background first in an editor.
Link preview images
When you share a web page in WhatsApp, the chat shows the page's preview image. Use 1200 × 630, JPG, and keep it under about 300 KB so it loads in the chat. This is also the common size for the Open Graph image of a page.
Image quality
The tool resizes with high quality smoothing. It does not make a small picture sharper. When an image has to be enlarged to fill the frame, the list marks it, and you should use a larger original if you can.
Privacy
The pictures are processed in your browser and are never uploaded. The tool keeps working if you switch off your connection after the page has loaded.
