Three ways to add a photo
- Drop or choose: drag files onto the box or tap Choose images.
- Paste: copy a photo in any program and press Ctrl+V (Cmd+V on a Mac) on this page.
- Camera: on a phone, tap Take a photo. Depending on the phone, the photo is saved as HEIC or JPG and is converted here either way.
On iPhone and iPad
- Open this page in Safari and tap Choose images.
- Pick Photo Library or Browse. Safari may already hand over a JPG for photos from the library, which is fine.
- Tap Download next to the JPG. It goes to the Downloads folder of the Files app. To add it to Photos, open it in Files, tap Share and choose Save Image.
On Android
Open the page in Chrome, tap Choose images and pick photos from Gallery or Files. The first HEIC photo takes a few seconds longer while the decoder loads. The JPGs go to the Downloads folder.
On Windows and Mac without a website
Mac: open the photo in Preview, choose File, Export and pick JPEG. Windows: with the HEIF and HEVC extensions installed, open the photo in Photos or Paint and use Save as, JPEG. Both handle one file at a time, while this page converts many at once and works the same on every device.
Is an online converter safe?
Many online converters upload your photos to a server, where they may be stored. This page does not: the conversion runs in your browser. You can check it by switching off your connection after the page and the first photo have loaded. It still works.
