Bulk UUID Generator

Make up to 10,000 UUIDs in one go, check them for duplicates, and save them as a text, CSV or JSON file. Choose the version, format, quotes and separator.

Try:

Made in your browser with the secure random generator. Nothing is sent to our server or stored.

What the bulk generator is for

Use it when you need a list of ids, not one: seed data for a test database, fixtures for unit tests, ids for a CSV import, load-test requests, or placeholder keys for a spreadsheet. Every UUID is made in your browser with the secure random generator, and the page checks the finished list for duplicates and shows the result.

How to get the list in the shape you need

You needSet
One id per line (text file, CSV column)Separator: new line
A list for an SQL IN (...)Quotes: single, separator: comma
An array for code or a JSON fileSeparator: JSON array
Ids in a spreadsheet, one per cellNew line, then paste into column A
Shorter ids for file namesFormat: no hyphens or Base64URL
Keys that insert in orderVersion 7

Downloads

  • Download .txt: the list exactly as shown in the box.
  • Download .csv: one UUID per row with a uuid header, ready to open or to import.
  • Download .json: a JSON array of strings.

Are 10,000 random UUIDs unique?

Yes. With 122 random bits per v4 UUID, the chance that any two in a batch of 10,000 are equal is about 10-28. The duplicate check on this page is a confirmation, and it will show "0 duplicates" every time. For v7 and v1, ids made in the same millisecond or tick are kept unique by a counter.

Make many UUIDs in code or in a database

-- PostgreSQL: 1000 random UUIDs
SELECT gen_random_uuid() FROM generate_series(1, 1000);

-- MySQL 8: 1000 UUIDs
WITH RECURSIVE n(i) AS (SELECT 1 UNION ALL SELECT i + 1 FROM n WHERE i < 1000)
SELECT UUID() FROM n;

# Python
import uuid
ids = [str(uuid.uuid4()) for _ in range(1000)]

// JavaScript
Array.from({ length: 1000 }, () => crypto.randomUUID());

# Linux or macOS shell
for i in $(seq 1000); do uuidgen; done > ids.txt

# PowerShell
1..1000 | ForEach-Object { [guid]::NewGuid() }

Tips for importing lists

  • When you open a CSV in Excel, UUIDs stay as text. A UUID made only of digits and a few letters could be read as a number in rare cases (for example 1e5 patterns), so import the column as text.
  • For a large table, load the ids with the database's bulk loader (COPY in PostgreSQL, LOAD DATA in MySQL), not with thousands of single inserts.
  • If the ids are keys, think about UUID v7 for the order of inserts. See also the UUID guide.

Limits

The generator makes at most 10,000 UUIDs per click, which keeps the page fast on a phone. Press Generate again for more. For a single UUID, the UUID generator is simpler. To shuffle or pick from a list you already have, see the shuffle list tool.

Frequently asked questions

How many UUIDs can I generate at once?

Up to 10,000 per click. Press Generate again to make more.

Can I download the UUIDs?

Yes, as a text, CSV or JSON file.

Are the UUIDs in a batch unique?

Yes. The page checks the list and shows the number of duplicates, which is zero.

How do I get UUIDs in an SQL list?

Set the quotes to single and the separator to comma, then paste the result inside IN ( ).

Does it work offline?

Once the page is open, generation needs no network. Nothing is sent to a server.
